The purpose of the store is to provide easy access to excellent outdoor learning equipment and resources to schools and organizations across Canada. This initiative is run as a social enterprise which allows provide a return for outdoor learning non-profit organizations from across the country.

The Alberta Tomorrow simulator is an educational tool that helps you to understand the process of sustainable planning to balance land-uses such as agriculture, oil and gas and forestry with ecological integrity. By looking at past and present landscape imagery, you will be able to see changes that have taken place in the past. Wild North

Presentation topics are chosen at the discretion of the group or by the grade level, linking to the Alberta school curriculum. All grade PreK-6 presentations include a colouring or crossword activity sheet and interaction with our education bird. Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre
The Education program serves to inform the public about our services emphasizing the value of wildlife rehabilitation, address conservation issues, provide information (physiology/adaptations/migration) about native wildlife and create conversation around the implications of human activities on the health and safety of wild animals. Many of these programs also include an owl pellet dissection, which is a fun, unique, and highly rated hands on educational experience for students of all ages. Owl pellets are formed from the regurgitated bones and fur that owls cannot digest. Our programs create long lasting positive associations with wildlife; it is our goal to provide relevant, engaging information and experiences for students and the community with regards to wildlife and wildlife issues. |
CPAWS -Outdoor Education & Outreach

Specializes in creating active programs that are tailored to the objectives of the group involved. Their professional staff draws on years of teaching and guiding in the outdoors to make each program a great learning experience with memories that will last a lifetime. Company of Adventurers provides instruction in many outdoor wilderness activities with a strong focus on environmental education and stewardship. A low guide to participant ratio promotes safety and enhances the quality of the experience. Program length varies from day- to multi-day or even multi-week adventures. |
WinSport
A not-for-profit organization, WinSport owns and operates Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, the Bill Warren Training Centre at the Canmore Nordic Centre in Canmore Alberta, and the Beckie Scott High Performance Training Centre on Haig Glacier Alberta. WinSport also funds two-thirds of the operating budget for the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary. Money spent at WinSport facilities supports not only Canadian high-performance athletes, but introduces thousands of Calgarians to mountain-based sports each year. |

Project WILD is based on educational standards, developed by scientists, and reviewed and field-tested by educators. The interdisciplinary Canadian Project WILD guide features 121 complete lesson plans about wildlife and the environment that can each be adapted for any age, grade level or subject. |
School programs in Alberta Parks
Serve multiple purposes and meet objectives for Alberta Parks and schools alike. Formal education programs assist teachers meet the demands of curriculum in engaging and dynamic ways. Through resources and services developed by formal education staff, teachers are given the opportunity to: discover how to utilize Alberta Park’s as authentic learning landscapes; develop strategies and pedagogies to better engage students in their curriculum; and partner with Alberta Parks formal education staff to support them in teaching curriculum and in learning how to teach in a natural setting. |

Butterfly Wings n' Wishes Ltd has a variety of critter kits for your classroom. Larvae Kits can be pre-ordered for the Spring anytime throughout the year, and preordering is recommended. Kits do not include a habitat for the adult butterflies and must be ordered separately.

Through the URBAN FARM SCHOOL workshops, we aim to inform, inspire, empower, share skills & knowledge, and, at the same time, build meaningful and collaborative relationships. Our goal is to promote the practice of sustainable local food production and permaculture in our beautiful city and beyond, and help contribute to creating vibrant, resilient and regenerative communities. With the application of sustainable principles and ethics as foundational guidelines at home and in our communities, and by acquiring skills which build resilience and collaboration, we are able to gradually transition from being dependent consumers to becoming mindful and responsible producers.
