Conference 2006 – Last Minute Reminders

See you soon at Sunshine Village near Banff!

	Accommodations Looking for accommodations? There are some rooms available at the Sunshine Inn, up at Sunshine Village. While accommodations are not essential for this event, staying in this comfortable remote hotel is a highlight of any visit to Sunshine Village. Remember a lift ticket is included in every room rental. Call 1-877-542-2633 or 277-7669 (in Calgary) to make a reservation.
	National Park Pass Please be reminded that you will be entering Banff National Park and will be required to purchase a park pass (unless you already have an annual pass) for the duration of the event.
	Cameras and Binoculars Please bring along your digital cameras and binoculars to capture moments in your sessions and events you are attending. The GEOEC would really appreciate any donations of digital pix you can make afterwards. Please e-mail them to jon.olfert@gmail.com. If we use them on our Web site, we will duly credit all contributions.
	Clothing and Gear Remember to check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. All of the sessions at this event feature an outdoor component of some sort. Consider indoor clothing, outdoor clothing, protection from the sun and hydration. Pack your things in something that is easy to transport as everything must make its way to Sunshine Village – a 15-minute high speed gondola trip from the base parking lot. Consider the workshops you have registered for and pack the required gear such as skis, snowboard, helmets, wax, snowshoes (if you have them) and avalanche gear. Equipment Rental – Sunshine Village is offering a 25% discount on all rentals for participants.
	Meals A light dinner meal will be served in the Lookout Bistro at the end of the day of Saturday, April 22, 2006. All other meals and snacks are the responsibility of the participant.
	Silent Auction The new or used items you plan to bring for the silent auction will be on display for bidding Saturday afternoon in the Lookout Bistro. Outdoor items, art, gear, gift certificates, books, etc. will be gratefully accepted. Drop off donations at the registration desk when you arrive. Bring along some extra money so you do not miss out on all the goodies! (Cash, cheques, Visa and Mastercard will be accepted). All proceeds go to support of GEOEC.
