Conference Events

Thursday Night Opening Ceremony with Wine & Cheese

Join us at the Opening Ceremony on Thursday night. Leave all your daily demands behind you for the next three days and try to find a balance within yourself and the environment around you. The wine and cheese will be a time to meet all the “first timers” to the G.E.O.E.C. conference.

Friday Night Unplugged – Sing-along With Friends and Entertainment

What is an Unplugged G.E.O.E.C. Sing-along? This is the time where you can perform to an unconditional appreciative audience. Haul your musical instruments out from your closets – guitars, banjos, flutes, diggeridous (!), spoons, drums, noise makers – and be ready to jam with a group of talented musicians. Includes a performance of songs from different cultures by an adult choir from Edson under the direction of Diana Bainbridge.

Saturday Night Dinner & Dance

After dinner you will have a chance to learn to Line Dance from a qualified Line Dance instructor. Come prepared to have fun – and you don’t need to wear your dancing shoes.

Sunday Optional Tours

The following off-site activities are optional and family oriented:

  1. Take a historical walk in the town site of Jasper with a Friend of Jasper, Neil Prather. (Free)
  2. Walk up to the Edith Cavel Meadows with a national park guide. (Cost TBA)
